"Do you suppose Wrenny's put it out there yet?" I asked Porky. She didn't know. But she had a plan.
"I'm going to make some changes to this agent. See, I switch these two lines. One is the address for Wrenny's account. The other is the placeholder for the Bob user's account - that's where all the royalty is SUPPOSED to go. By switching these, we pull that five percent OUT of Wrenny's account, and put it into the user's account. That will suck Wrenny's capital dry in just a few days, and he won't know it until the bank stops covering his overdraft. Global Image will be bankrupt, and the thief will be out of business."
It was a clever plan. Robinhood steals from the crooks and gives to all the citizens of Sherwood Forest. And that's what we did.
When it was all over just a few days later, we read about the Global Image bankruptcy on the HotWired newsfeed. I packed up my knapsack and was ready to head home.
"Can I use your set?" I asked Aporkalypse. I wanted to put in a vid-call to Bernley to be sure he made it home ok.
And there was the troll on the big monitor, home safe. "Hiya, Eddie!" he said. "Where are you?"
"I'm with Aporkalypse in NewMex." And I explained how we had turned Wrenny's royalty agent back, and put him out of business. Berns invited me to stop by Indy on my way home. He wanted to buy me dinner at the Black Angus, in appreciation for saving his skin. Just then, Porky walked in from the kitchen with an orange juice for me.
"SENU!" shouted Bernley. "What are YOU doing there!"
"Hi Bernley," she spoke to him across the vid-channel. "Sorry I had to run out on you like that. Those were my orders."
For a moment I was speechless. "You, you're... the Princess?" I stammered. Aporkalypse looked at me with an apologetic smile, and shrugged her shoulders.
"It was a government job," she explained. "I was contracted to put that hood out of business. And you gens helped."
